As expected, the third year of the Cheap Thrills Motorcycle Show & Swap Meet proved to be even bigger and better than the first two. Once again, organizers Walter and Dusty collected some of the raddest bikes from all over the Northeast and lined them up in the main lobby of the historic Asbury Park Convention Hall. Located on the waterfront boardwalk and extending over the beach, the venue is a 3,600-seat indoor exhibition center featuring a concert hall, movie theater, small shops, and restaurants.

I met Ryan a couple of years ago at the second Boogie Farm Clam Jam. He rode out from Illinois on his bitchin CB750 chop with some of his buds. It was all raw metal and crusty back then, but he talked about some of the stuff he had in mind to do to his bike during that winter. And it turned out awesome!

From the moment I saw this bike sitting in the park, I knew I wanted to photograph it. She has this long, lean look to her that is so reminiscent of the 70’s style chopper and it just catches your eye. It’s always such a pleasant surprise to see custom choppers shooting down the highways and bi-ways of Southeast Arizona. During the show, I wandered back and forth past the bike several times and knew I had to set up a session.

“If Jesus rides a Harley, the Devil rides a Triumph” that was the first quote I had heard about this bike and let me tell ya; it holds right through every aspect of Jeremy Schaub’s ‘73 Red Army Red T140V. Low, loud, and unforgiving to any number of people who have doubted just how quick a 750 really is. Believe me; I learned the hard way.

Free beer, rad bikes, and a killer venue? How often does that happen? Almost never. It’s just as rare to have the first year of an event turn out to be a huge success, but my pal Jeremy Bievenour and crew really pulled it off. The Keystone Collective, in York, PA, was just that kind of happen
